Andre Øvredal is about to start shooting Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. Shooting begins on the 27th of August and will continue through until October.

Produced by CBS Films and Guillermo Del Toro, Andre was hand picked to take over the directors chair by Guillermo Del Toro and he is now deep in pre-production on location in Canada. The production was announced to the world earlier this year in Cannes with del Toro and Øvredal presenting the film to the worlds press, According to Variety, “The presentation he did wasn’t a bunch of dazzle dazzle and movie stars,” said Nick Meyer, CEO of Sierra/Affinity, the sales company hawking foreign rights to the picture. “It was two artists talking about what makes this genre global. It was a master class.” With his Norwegian film “Mortal” expected to hit the screens early next year, Andre Øvredal is fast becoming one of the hottest directors on the world stage.
